Sports With Style

Tom Brady, Julian Edelman, David Ortiz, and Isaiah Thomas know a thing or two about looking good on the field or the court. But these four athletes also know how to dress to impress outside the stadium and are the contenders for The Globies award for Most Stylish. The winner will be determined solely by fan voting.

Married to supermodel Gisele Bundchen, it’s no surprise that Brady embraces high fashion. The Patriots quarterback was featured on the cover of GQ in November and has modeled for numerous UGG campaigns. Brady has attended the Met Gala in the past, but skipped the event this year.

The star of the NFL’s men’s lifestyle fashion campaign last season, Edelman has also modeled high-end looks for John Varvatos and Ermenegildo Zegna and attended New York Fashion Week. Edelman is also one of the faces of Puma, lending his JE11 logo to a Patriots-inspired colorway of the brand’s “IGNITE” running shoes.

Always rocking flashy jewelry and statement sunglasses — both on and off the field — Ortiz is never shy about expressing himself. The Red Sox slugger completes his look with his always-sharp, well-kept beard.

In a November 2015 Globe story, Thomas said he is “trying to dress like [he is] getting older.” The Celtics point guard’s style isn’t as eccentric as some other NBA players, but Thomas still aspires to attend New York Fashion Week.
